In gratitude to the spirit that inspires
Using contemporary interpretations from anicent motifs and images from cultures that honor the earth, on gourd masks and vessels, my work is a continuation of early art forms.
My paintings are of similar themes as well as contemporary ideas that awaken the spirit and offer a sense of inner peace. it is my hope that my art evokes something ancient and spiritual and one finds a reverance which is both joyful and healing,
My education and background have always centered around art. I graduated from San Jose State with a BA in Art and graduate studies in the field of Education from UC Santa Cruz .
I have taught both in private and public schools for 20 years and am now working with young children, in which there is a mutual exchange. I am learning from their freedom and unbounded energy for expression and growing as an artist.
Art has always been a part of me. Through the past years I have worked in varied artistic mediums ... always returning to the organic gifts of the earth. Each medium evolving on it's own and at the same time coming together. My most recent art reflects a culmination of these art forms.
