Heady Statement:
With all my work, I am interested in the intimate encounter with the unattended in the land--of the tension between our public neglect and our private experience and attention to these places. I try to eschew sentimentality, but have no desire to eradicate the possibility of sentiment, affection, or hope as valid and complex encounters within reality. While the majority of my pictorial means are more associative of objective aims and traditions, I have hoped to create images that value the emotional geography of a given situation, as I believe that reality first occurs as a imaginative potential within individuals before it can become a shared value within society.
